Our Story

Our story began while completing our MA in counselling, where a shared passion for understanding and supporting others sparked a lifelong friendship. Through years of learning, growing, and honing our skills, we discovered the joy of helping people navigate life’s challenges with empathy, love, and while recognising the important place community can have on a healing journey.

Out of this shared vision, Coral Therapies and Training was born—a place where our knowledge and experience come together to empower, nurture, and support others. Every step of our journey is driven by our dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Which Therapy to Choose?

Counselling

Integrative counselling is a flexible approach to therapy that draws on ideas and techniques from different counselling models to meet the individual needs of each client. Our counsellors integrates methods from approaches such as person-centred, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, humanistic, systemic and creative therapies. This allows the counselling process to be tailored to the client’s experiences, goals, and preferences, supporting a more holistic and personalised form of therapeutic support. Counselling supports individuals in understanding and managing emotional, psychological, and relational difficulties. Through regular sessions with a , clients explore thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and past experiences to gain insight and develop healthier ways of coping. Counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, and aims to promote self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps children express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play rather than words. Using toys, games, art, and creative activities, the therapist creates a safe and supportive environment where children can explore emotions, work through difficulties, and develop coping skills. Play therapy recognises play as a child’s natural form of communication and uses it to support emotional, social, and psychological development.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured psychotherapy approach used to help people process and recover from distressing or traumatic experiences. It involves recalling difficult memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or tapping, which helps the brain reprocess the memory. EMDR can reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences and support more adaptive ways of thinking and coping.

Supervision

Supervision is a supportive and reflective process where professionals or other therapists meet with a qualified supervisor to discuss their clinical work. It provides a safe space to explore challenges, maintain ethical practice, and enhance professional development. Supervision helps ensure the wellbeing of both the practitioner and their clients by promoting effective, responsible, and reflective practice.
